Mummy's Message and its concept began as an educational board game in 1978. For creator Anthony Maggio, his fascination with ancient Egyptian civilization began years before the first board game was ever sold. Intrigued and driven to teach students about the culture and customs of the era, Anthony developed Mummy's Message.

Dr. Maggio spent 7 years researching and collecting data about the facts and history of ancient Egypt. From 1978 through 1996, Mummy's Message was one of the strongest "learning tools" marketed by INTERACT, a CA-based marketing company devoted to promoting educational games.
In 1996, as the use of the Internet rapidly became the preferred tool for gathering information and purchasing products, Anthony developed a PDF version of the board game. Hence, this site was born. Since then, thousands of students throughout the U.S. have had the opportunity to become well educated about ancient Egypt, acquiring the facts while playing a game.

From the words of the author, Anthony tells us:
|
"I have always believed that if a teacher utilizes a strategy of learning that engages students in an experience that promotes an emotional and personal interaction with the content and curriculum, students will not only learn but will retain what they have learned. It is what all educators strive to do, and exactly what Mummy's Messsage provides."
